Lennar's record sales of 29 new homes in February at Heritage Bay, a gated golf and country club resort community on Immokalee Road east of Interstate 75, were spurred in part by the $6,500 federal tax credit for move-up buyers.

Sales of new homes at the Verandas at Heritage Bay and Heritage Bay Terrace Condominiums exceeded projections for February, said Matt Devereaux, director of sales for Lennar's Southwest Florida Division.

"The $6,500 federal tax credit incentive applies to move-up buyers." Devereaux explained. "Many of our homebuyers are homeowners already and will now spend a majority of their time in Naples," he explained.

Lennar has ready-to-move-in new homes available at Heritage Bay that qualify for the $6,500 tax credit, which ends April 30, said Devereaux.

"Eighty percent of the land at Heritage Bay is comprised of lakes, golf course, conservation areas and open preserves," Devereaux said.

Membership in the Heritage Bay golf club with a 27-hole golf course is included with the purchase price of every new home. Community amenities also include seven lighted Har-Tru tennis courts with stadium seating for tournaments, and a 42,000-square-foot two-story clubhouse with fitness center and resort-style swimming pool with chickee bar.
